For Theatrical Releases:
Step Out -- worth the effort and the cost to take the kids out
Stay In -- not worth the cost and effort, possibly worth a DVD viewing
For DVD:
I will give one of the four ratings --
Stay Up -- worth watching even if you don't have kiddos or if they are too young
Settle In -- enjoyable for everyone, settle in with the popcorn and the kids
Press Play -- okay for the kids, adults might want to find other entertainment
Skip It -- not worth the time or cost, even for the DVD
The Red Carpet Poles range from:
1/2 to 5 .
i'd let my kid see that
I'm a mom of two who loves films. As a family, we see hundreds of movies at the theater and DVDs.
Movie time is very special for us. And because of that, I love when a kid's movie is enjoyable to the adults in the room ("Up", anyone?). And because of that I hate when age-inappropriate content pops up (I'm looking at you, "Shrek"!).
So I'm creating a forum to discuss films and DVDs that I love, hate, and everything in-between. I'll give you my best go at the quality of the film, as well as warn you of any unpleasant surprises.
Let me know what you think. If you see a film and you have an opinion, share it. If there's a film, you want me to preview, let me know.
The Papa Award for Contribution to Film
My friend at Pen and Paper gave me an award!!!! Thank you, Thank you. Thank you!
I love your soldier marking system. It doesn't get any better than stepping out of the theatre wishing to settle in for the DVD.
