Shrek Forever After on DVD

Shrek Forever After is nothing new -- think "Shrek" meets "A Wonderful Life" with a little bit of "Braveheart" thrown in. Yet it is sweetly played out. To see my full review, go here. Both of my children enjoyed it and so did my husband and I. Another nice surprise... unlike other Shrek episodes, there was no extended over-the-top inappropriate innuendo. I found it appropriate for both my three year-old and my six year-old.

Toy Story 3 on DVD

This is one of the rare cases wherein I, the parent, enjoyed the film more than my kiddos. To start, Pixar has done it again! These guys can't seem to hit a false note. To see my full review, go here.

I do think, however, that this is a more sophisticated storyline with some seriously scary moments, so I do recommend a parental (or older child) viewing before bringing the little ones in. But besides that, I loved the film and give it my highest DVD rating -- Stay Up.

P.S. With the beauty of Pixar, I do think this film is worthy of a Blu-Ray purchase.

How to Train Your Dragon on DVD

Both my son and I loved, Loved, LOVED this movie! We enjoyed it so much, he's getting it on Sunday for his birthday. It is a sweet story about differences and honoring who you are, mixed with excitement and adventure. And it teaches a great lesson. Who could ask for more? You can see the full review here.

This is a definite Stay Up!

I do not recommend this film for very young children as the dragons can be a little scary but it certainly is appropriate for school age.
